Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary March 6-12, 2023
Fishery Reports:
Lower Columbia River Buoy 10 upstream to Bonneville Dam – 123 salmonid boats and 73 Washington bank rods were tallied during Saturday’s (3/11) flight count.
Mainstem Columbia River
Salmon/Steelhead:
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 15 bank anglers had no catch.
Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – No report.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – No report.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 19 bank anglers had no catch. 10 boats/19 rods had no catch.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 15 bank anglers had no catch. 7 boats/11 rods had no catch.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – 10 bank anglers had no catch. 7 boats/22 rods had no catch.
Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 5 boats/10 rods had no catch.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 60 bank anglers kept three steelhead and released three steelhead. 50 boats/102 rods kept five Chinook and released one Chinook.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – Six bank anglers had no catch.
Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – One bank angler had no catch. 2 boats/4 rods had no catch.
Columbia River Tributaries
Salmon/Steelhead:
Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 21 bank rods kept three steelhead and released four steelhead.
Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – 49 bank rods kept three steelhead and released one steelhead. 9 boats/28 rods kept 22 steelhead and released one steelhead.
Kalama River – 10 bank rods kept one steelhead. 2 boats/4 rods released two steelhead.
Lewis River – 13 bank rods had no catch. 1 boat/1 rod released one steelhead.
