Special WDFW Commission Meeting On 2022 Spring Bear Hunt
Washington’s Fish and Wildlife Commission will hold a special meeting in mid-November to talk spring bear hunting ahead of their final decision on 2022’s special permit season.
No public comment will be taken during the November 15 briefing by Dr. Stephanie Simek, WDFW’s carnivore manager, who in late October was tasked by members with answering a series of questions on the proposal.
She is expected to provide responses to those and others the citizen panel may have.
WDFW is proposing 664 permits be available for next year’s season, mostly in Northeast and Southeast Washington, but also for select Westside game management units.
The hunt has attracted massive support and opposition.
The meeting is scheduled to run from 8-9:30 that Monday morning and will be held via Zoom., or you can call into 1-888-475-4499 or 1-312-626-6799 an enter meeting ID number 871-3580-5690.
The final decision has been scheduled for the following Friday, November, 19, timing that will be confirmed when the agenda for that meeting is posted here.
