SW WA, Lower Columbia, Lower Willamette Fishing Report (4-21-26)

THE FOLLOWING FISHING REPORTS ORIGINATED WITH WDFW AND ODFW

Preliminary Lower Columbia River and Washington Tributary Sport Summary – April 13-19, 2026

Mainstem Columbia River 

Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam — 1449 salmonid boats and 379 Washington bank rods were tallied on the flight count Saturday, April 18. 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — 220 bank anglers kept 19 Chinook and and released four Chinook. No boat effort reported. 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — No [bank] effort reported. 8 boats/13 rods kept one Chinook.

Section 3 (I-5 Area) — No bank effort reported. 2 boats/4 rods kept one Chinook. 

Section 4 (Vancouver) — 63 bank anglers kept three Chinook and released one Chinook. 77 boats/172 rods kept 31 Chinook, one jack, and released four Chinook. 

Section 5 (Woodland) — 16 bank anglers had no catch. 39 boats/82 rods kept 14 Chinook and released two Chinook. 

Section 6 (Kalama) — 36 bank anglers had no catch. 30 boats/87 rods kept 19 Chinook and one jack. 

Section 7 (Cowlitz) — No bank effort reported. 5 boats/13 rods kept five Chinook, released one Chinook and one steelhead. 

Section 8 (Longview) —40 bank anglers kept one Chinook, one jack and one steelhead. 66 boats/141 rods kept 19 Chinook and released four Chinook. 

Section 9 (Cathlamet) — 45 bank anglers kept two Chinook and released one Chinook. 10 boats/19 rods kept seven Chinook and released three Chinook. 

Section 10 (Cathlamet) — 1 bank angler had no catch. 34 boats/68 rods kept 21 Chinook and released two Chinook.

Sturgeon 

Section 4 (Vancouver) — 1 boat/1 rod had no catch. 

Shad

No effort reported. 

Walleye 

No boat or bank effort reported. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge downstream) — 198 bank anglers kept five Chinook, five steelhead and released two sturgeon. 2 boats/3 rods had no catch. 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge upstream) — 38 bank anglers kept one steelhead and released one steelhead. 2 boats/4 rods had no catch. 

Kalama River — 39 bank anglers kept three Chinook, two steelhead and released one steelhead. 21 boats/55 rods kept 13 Chinook and released one steelhead. 

Lewis River — 62 bank anglers kept five Chinook and one steelhead. 28 boats/55 rods kept nine Chinook, released one Chinook and eight steelhead. 

Wind River — Five bank anglers had no catch. 25 boats/47 rods kept six Chinook. 

Drano Lake — 11 bank anglers had no catch. 41 boats/92 rods kept 12 Chinook and released one Chinook. 

Klickitat River (below Fisher Hill Bridge) — One bank angler released one steelhead. No boat effort reported.
