THE FOLLOWING FISHING REPORTS ORIGINATED WITH WDFW AND ODFW

WDFW Preliminary Lower Columbia River and Washington Tributary Sport Summary – Oct 13-19, 2025

Mainstem Columbia River 

Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam — 131 salmonid boats and 31 Washington bank rods were tallied on the flight count Saturday, October 18.

Salmon/Steelhead 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — 52 bank anglers kept 19 coho. 6 boats/10 rods kept two coho and released  two Chinook and one coho. 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — One bank angler had no catch. 28 boats/54 rods kept six coho and  released two Chinook and one coho.  

Section 3 (I-5 Area) — One bank angler kept one coho.  

Section 4 (Vancouver) — 15 boats/27 rods kept four coho and released one coho.

Section 5 (Woodland) — 10 boats/14 rods kept three coho and released one coho.  

Section 6 (Kalama) — 17 bank anglers had no catch. 19 boats/38 rods kept 14 coho and released  seven Chinook, five coho and one coho jack.  

Section 7 (Cowlitz) — 10 boats/31 rods kept 14 coho and released five Chinook, two Chinook jacks  and three coho..  

Section 8 (Longview) — 11 boats/23 rods kept nine coho and released three Chinook and six coho.

Section 9 (Cathlamet) — No effort reported. 

Section 10 (Cathlamet) — No effort reported. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge downstream) — Three bank anglers kept three coho and released two  Chinook, one Chinook jack and three coho jacks. 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge upstream) — 63 bank anglers kept three coho, one coho jack, two  steelhead and released four Chinook and one coho.  

Kalama River — 21 bank anglers kept one coho, one steelhead and released one coho and one  steelhead. 1 boat/1 rod had no catch. 

Lewis River — 74 bank anglers kept one Chinook, seven coho, two coho jacks and released one Chinook and two coho. 9 boats/11 rods kept one coho.  

Wind River — Seven bank anglers released one Chinook. 53 boats/133 rods kept 179 coho, one coho jack and released five Chinook, 25 coho and one steelhead. 

Drano Lake — 33 bank anglers kept one Chinook, four coho and released three Chinook, five coho and five steelhead. 26 boats/78 rods kept 12 Chinook, eight Chinook jacks, 49 coho and released 21 Chinook and two coho. 

Klickitat River (below Fisher Hill Bridge) — 41 bank anglers kept 17 Chinook, two Chinook jacks,  three coho and released one Chinook.  

Klickitat River (above# 5 fishway) — Seven bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/3 rods released one  steelhead.

From Friday, October 17 through Sunday, October 19, 2025 Oregon creel samplers contacted 12 boats (40 anglers) for 6 Coho (averaged 0.15 fish/rod) kept; and 6 Coho released.

Fish sampled to date: 6,392 Chinook and 7,004 Coho
Estimated angler trips: 63,074 boat and 4,604 bank
