Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary June 21-27, 2021

Salmon/Steelhead:

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 71 bank anglers kept four Chinook and released one Chinook and two jacks.  3 boats/6 rods released one Chinook.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 16 boats/35 rods kept five Chinook, one jack and released one Chinook.

Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 33 bank anglers kept two sockeye and released one Chinook.  2 boats/4 rods had no catch. 

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 35 bank anglers kept one Chinook and released two Chinook.  7 boats/12 rods had no catch.

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 35 bank anglers kept one Chinook and one sockeye.  4 boats/13 rods kept one Chinook, one steelhead and seven sockeye.

Sec 6 (Kalama) 211 bank anglers kept 22 Chinook, seven sockeye and released nine Chinook, two steelhead and three sockeye.  47 boats/132 rods kept 15 Chinook, two jacks and released six Chinook.

Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 27 boats/90 rods kept 13 Chinook, one jack and released five Chinook and three jacks.

Sec 8 (Longview) – 70 bank anglers kept two Chinook, five steelhead and three sockeye.  49 boats/109 rods kept seven Chinook, two steelhead, two sockeye and released four Chinook and one steelhead.

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 32 bank anglers kept one Chinook, two jacks, four steelhead, one sockeye and released one Chinook and two steelhead.  5 boats/18 rods kept one Chinook, 11 steelhead, two sockeye and released four steelhead.

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – Three bank anglers had no catch.  2 boats/5 rods had no catch.

Sturgeon:

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 1 boat/2 rods released one sublegal, two legal and five oversize sturgeon.

Sec 6 (Kalama) 1 boat/3 rods released five sublegal, eight legal and seven oversize sturgeon.

Sec 8 (Longview) – 2 boats/8 rods released six sublegal, one legal and one oversize sturgeon.

Shad:

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 80 bank anglers kept 748 shad.  7 boats/16 rods kept 277 shad and released 52 shad.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 3 boats/9 rods kept three shad.

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead:

Cowlitz River – I-5 Br downstream – 43 bank rods had no catch.  1 boat/3 rods released two sturgeon.

Above the I-5 Br – 19 bank anglers kept one Chinook and one jack.  20 boats/76 rods kept 64 steelhead.

Kalama River – No report. 

Lewis River – No report.

Wind River – No report.

Drano Lake – No report.

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – No report.

Klickitat above #5 Fishway – No report.
