SW WA, Lower Columbia Fishing Report (6-25-26)

THE FOLLOWING FISHING REPORT ORIGINATED WITH WDFW

Preliminary Lower Columbia River and Washington Tributary Sport Summary – June 16-21, 2026

Mainstem Columbia River 

Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam — 100 salmonid boats and 418 Washington bank rods were tallied on the flight count Saturday, June 20. 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — Four bank anglers released one Chinook. 1 boat/2 rods released one Chinook and one jack.  

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — No bank or boat effort reported. 

Section 3 (I-5 Area) — No bank or boat effort reported.  

Section 4 (Vancouver) — Five bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported.

Section 5 (Woodland) — No bank or boat effort reported.  

Section 6 (Kalama) — 27 bank anglers kept one steelhead. 2 boats/6 rods had no catch. 

Section 7 (Cowlitz) — No bank or boat effort reported. 

Section 8 (Longview) — No bank or boat effort reported. 

Section 9 (Cathlamet) — 10 bank anglers released one Chinook and one steelhead. 2 boats/5 rods kept one steelhead. 

Section 10 (Cathlamet) — No bank effort reported. 1 boat/1 rod had no catch.

Sturgeon 

Section 6 (Kalama) — 6 boats/25 rods released nine sub-legal, 17 legal, and three oversize sturgeon.

Shad

Section 1 (Bonneville) — Eight bank anglers kept 26 shad. 2 boats/4 rods kept 53 shad.

Section 6 (Kalama) — 4 boats/8 rods had no catch. 

Walleye 

No effort reported.

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge downstream) — 22 bank anglers kept one Chinook jack and one steelhead.  No boat effort reported. 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge upstream) — 44 bank anglers kept nine Chinook, four jacks, one steelhead, and released one Chinook, three jacks, and one steelhead. 25 boats/107 rods kept one Chinook and  20 steelhead.  

Kalama River — 12 bank anglers had no catch. 3 boats/5 rods had no catch. 

Lewis River — Six bank anglers had no catch. 3 boats/3 rods had no catch. 

Wind River — One bank angler had no catch. No boat effort reported. 

Drano Lake — No bank effort reported. 1 boat/2 rods released three steelhead. 

Klickitat River (below Fisher Hill Bridge) — No effort reported. 

Klickitat River (above Fisher Hill Bridge) — Two bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported.
