SW WA, Lower Columbia, Buoy 10 Fishing Report (8-5-25)

THE FOLLOWING FISHING REPORTS ARE FROM WDFW AND ODFW MATERIALS

Preliminary Lower Columbia River and Washington Tributary Sport Summary – July 28-August 3, 2025

Mainstem Columbia River 

Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam — 187 salmonid boats and 187 Washington bank rods were tallied on the flight count Saturday, August 2. 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — 65 bank anglers kept one Chinook jack, four steelhead and released 21 steelhead. 1 boat/1 rod had no catch. 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — 14 bank anglers kept one steelhead. 4 boats/8 rods released two  steelhead. 

Section 3 (I-5 Area) — 12 bank anglers had no catch. 6 boats/12 rods kept one Chinook, two  steelhead and released five steelhead. 

Section 4 (Vancouver) — 24 bank anglers kept one steelhead, released one Chinook and one  steelhead. 11 boats/17 rods had no catch. 

Section 5 (Woodland) — 94 bank anglers kept seven steelhead and released five steelhead. 5 boats/13 rods kept one steelhead and released one steelhead. 

Section 6 (Kalama) — 107 bank anglers kept 20 steelhead, released one Chinook and 10 steelhead. 5 boats/8 rods kept one steelhead and released two steelhead. 

Section 7 (Cowlitz) — Two bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/3 rods kept one steelhead. 

Section 8 (Longview) — 160 bank anglers kept 18 steelhead and released nine steelhead. 15 boats/26 rods kept three steelhead. 

Section 9 (Cathlamet) — 14 bank anglers kept one steelhead. 6 boats/14 rods kept three steelhead  and released one steelhead. 

Section 10 (Cathlamet) — Two bank anglers had no catch. 

Sturgeon 

Section 7 (Cowlitz) — 1 boat/5 rods released 14 sublegal, three legal and three oversize sturgeon.

Section 8 (Longview) — Two bank anglers had no catch. 

Shad 

No effort reported. 

Walleye 

No effort reported. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge downstream) — 9 bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported. 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge upstream) — 17 bank anglers kept four steelhead, released one Chinook  and two Chinook jacks. 9 boats/33 rods kept 33 steelhead and released one steelhead. 

Kalama River — 30 bank anglers kept one Chinook, released two Chinook and two steelhead. 2  boats/4 rods had no catch. 

Lewis River — 33 bank anglers kept four steelhead and released one Chinook. 9 boats/26 rods kept  six steelhead, released one Chinook and nine steelhead. 

Wind River — No effort reported. 

Drano Lake — 10 bank anglers released three steelhead. 15 boats/31 rods kept three Chinook, 14  steelhead, released five Chinook and 25 steelhead. 

Klickitat River (below Fisher Hill Bridge) — No effort reported.
