Lower Columbia, SW WA Fishing Report (3-21-23)

ainstem Columbia River 

Salmon/Steelhead

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 32 bank anglers had no catch. 

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 3 boats/4 rods had no catch. 

A FEW SPRING CHINOOK ARE BEGINNING TO TURN UP. CRAIG MOSTUL CAUGHT THIS ONE LAST WEEK ON A COLUMBIA-ADJACENT FISHERY. (COAST PHOTO CONTEST)

Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 4 boats/7 rods kept two Chinook. 

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 19 bank anglers had no catch. 39 boats/70 rods kept two Chinook and released one  Chinook. 

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 35 bank anglers had no catch. 15 boats/30 rods released one Chinook.

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 23 bank anglers had no catch. 26 boats/59 rods kept one Chinook.

Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 14 boats/34 rods had no catch.

Sec 8 (Longview) – 97 bank anglers kept three steelhead and released three steelhead. 102 boats/216 rods kept two Chinook and released one Chinook. 

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – Three bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/1 rod had no catch.

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – Two bank angler had no catch. 4 boats/8 rods had no catch. 

Sturgeon: 

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 1 boat/4 rods had no catch. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 104 bank rods kept one Chinook, 11 steelhead and released two steelhead. 1 boat/1 rod had no catch. 

Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – Six bank rods kept one steelhead. 7 boats/31 rods kept 18 steelhead  and released four steelhead. 

Kalama River – No report. 

Lewis River – Two bank rods had no catch. 1 boat/1 rod kept one steelhead and released one steelhead.

Wind River – No report. 

Drano Lake – No report.
