Dates Set For 2022 Sportsmen’s Shows

They’re still more than seven months off, but organizers of the Puyallup and Portland sportsmen’s shows are pretty excited about where their events landed on the 2022 calendar.

Where the two marquee fishing and hunting shows have traditionally been held in late January and early February, respectively, next year they’re both moving a week later, and that does “our shows a lot of good for 2022 and beyond,” said Bill O’Loughlin, president of O’Loughlin Trade Shows, in a press release.

“They keep us clear of the AFC/NFC playoff games and Super Bowl, as well as the last week of duck hunting season in Washington State,” he said.

The Washington Sportsmen’s Show is February 2-6, while the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show is February 16-20.

O’Loughlin said those periods also represent “when peak purchasing and attendance occurs.”

And certainly there will be far more hunters and anglers walking the aisles next year than there were this year at the two pandemic-limited Oregon shows O’Loughlin was able to pull off this March, the only in-person ones to occur in the region in a year.

Most if not all other organizers either held theirs digitallypostponed, cancelled or just rescheduled them for 2022. Washington Covid-19 guidelines limited what is classified as “indoor entertainment” to a max of 200 people at any given time, making them unviable, according to the company.

O’Loughlin spokesman Trey Carskadon said they’ve already got some “cool stuff cookin'” for next winter.

“We haven’t stopped since the shows in March. We’ve just kept chugging, looking ahead to next year,” he said.

The Puyallup and Portland shows will be held at their usual locations, the Washington State Fairgrounds and the Portland Expo Center, respectively

The fourth-generation company’s third event, the Central Oregon Sportsmen’s Show, will be held March 10-13 at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo in Redmond.

Other hunting, fishing and outdoor adventure show organizers have also announced 2022 dates, with the Seattle Boat Show also moving deeper into winter. It will be February 4-12, per the Northwest Marine Trade Association.

Shuyler Productions‘ Tri-Cities Sportsmen’s Show will be January 21-23 in Pasco and the Central Washington Sportsmen’s Show will be February 18-20 in Yakima.

The Big Horn Show in Spokane will be held March 17-20, according to the Inland Northwest Wildlife Council, while ExpoSure Shows‘ three in Western Oregon will be held February 4-6 in Eugene; February 18-20 in Roseburg; and February 25-27 in Medford.
