SW WA, Lower Columbia, Lower Willamette Fishing Report (7-2-25)

Preliminary Lower Columbia River and Washington Tributary Sport Summary – June 23-29, 2025

Mainstem Columbia River 

Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam — 156 salmonid boats and 514 Washington bank rods were tallied on the flight count Saturday, June 28. 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — 80 bank anglers kept two Chinook jacks, four steelhead, four sockeye, and  released five Chinook, two jacks, and five steelhead. 2 boats/6 rods kept two Chinook jacks and two  sockeye. 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — 32 bank anglers kept two sockeye. 2 boats/2 rods had no catch. 

Section 3 (I-5 Area) — 53 bank anglers kept three sockeye and released two steelhead. 2 boats/3  rods kept two sockeye. 

Section 4 (Vancouver) — 84 bank anglers kept two steelhead, four sockeye and released three  steelhead. 1 boat/2 rods kept one steelhead. 

Section 5 (Woodland) — 54 bank anglers kept one steelhead and released one steelhead. 5 boats/13 rods had no catch. 

Section 6 (Kalama) — 140 bank anglers kept two steelhead, 18 sockeye and released one Chinook. 3 boats/5 rods had no catch. 

Section 7 (Cowlitz) — No effort reported.  

Section 8 (Longview) — 86 bank anglers kept four steelhead, three sockeye, and released one  Chinook and two steelhead. 20 boats/42 rods kept four steelhead, two sockeye, and released five steelhead. 

Section 9 (Cathlamet) — 42 bank anglers kept six steelhead, three sockeye and released two  steelhead. 13 boats/25 rods kept six steelhead, one sockeye, and released three steelhead. 

Section 10 (Cathlamet) — Five bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported.

Sturgeon 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — One bank angler had no catch.

Shad 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — 13 bank anglers kept 15 and released one shad. 2 boats/4 rods kept 32 shad. 

Walleye 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — No effort reported. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge downstream) — One bank angler had no catch. No boat effort reported. 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge upstream) — 12 bank anglers kept four Chinook, one Chinook jack, and one  steelhead. No boat effort reported. 

Kalama River — Five bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported. 

Lewis River — Five bank anglers had no catch. 3 boats/7 rods had no catch. 

Wind River — No effort reported. 

Drano Lake — Three bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/1 rod released three Chinook. 

Klickitat River (below Fisher Hill Bridge) — Four bank anglers kept one steelhead and released one  steelhead. No boat effort reported.
