M.ovi Detected In Oregon’s Biggest Bighorn Herd
ODFW reports that several bighorns along the John Day River have recently tested positive for a respiratory pathogen that’s caused pneumonia outbreaks in the state’s wild sheep in the past, “disappointing news” as the disease hadn’t been detected until now in this area’s large herd.
WDFW Reminding Hunters About CWD Requirements For 100-series GMU Deer, Elk, Moose
Deer, elk and moose hunters are being reminded about chronic wasting disease requirements in Washington game management units stretching up and down the far eastern tier of the state, along with other rules to try and slow the spread of the fatal deer family disease. WDFW reports it has confirmed CWD in eight deer since 2024.
