While hunters should still use caution as wildfire season continues, private lands in Northeast Oregon open thru ODFW’s Access and Habitat Program will reopen starting August 29 thanks to moderating conditions.

Following on the closure of the Deschutes River to steelheading earlier this month, ODFW announces that the John Day will also close starting September 1 because not enough wild summer-runs have crossed Bonneville Dam so far this counting season.
