The news I posted Wednesday that WDFW will attempt to capture and radio-collar 125 Southeast Washington elk calves this spring to determine the reasons why so many are dying before they even reach a year old drew a pretty strong well-duh pushback on Facebook: Lions and wolves and bears, smart guy. So why the hell even bother with this study?
