Troopers Looking For Info On 2 Oregon Bucks Left To Waste

Oregon wildlife troopers are looking for information on a pair of buck wastage cases in Baker and Lincoln Counties in early November.

OREGON STATE POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR WHOMEVER SHOT AND FIELD-DRESSED THIS BLACKTAIL BUCK BUT THEN LEFT ITS CARCASS TO WASTE. (OSP)

They say somebody shot a mule deer out of season and left it to waste off of Black Mountain Road by Phillips Reservoir in the Sumpter Wildlife Management Unit 15 miles south of Baker City.

Troopers responded to the scene November 4. Anyone with information is asked to contact OSP Fish and Wildlife Division Trooper Dakotah Keys via the Turn in Poachers, or TIP, hotline at 800-452-7888 or dial *OSP (*677) on their smartphone.

The next day and on the other side of the state in the Coast Range, troopers located a forked-horn blacktail that had been shot, field-dressed but then left to waste on private timberlands outside the tiny burg of Harlan.

The incident occurred during the last weekend of the general any legal weapon season.

Informants are asked to call the above numbers, or emailĀ TIP@osp.oregon.gov, and reference case number SP23352231.

Tips that lead to an arrest or citation could yield a cash reward or controlled tag preference points.
