SW WA, Lower Columbia, Lower Willamette Fishing Report (6-24-25)

Preliminary Lower Columbia River and Washington Tributary Sport Summary – June 16-22, 2025

Mainstem Columbia River 

Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam — 38 salmonid  boats and 349 Washington bank rods were tallied on Sunday, June 22. Count impacted by weather. 

SPRING CHINOOK ANGLERS FISH THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE WILLAMETTE RIVER AT ITS CONFLUENCE WITH THE COLUMBIA RIVER. LAST WEEK SAW THE HIGHEST KEPT CATCH OF THE SEASON FROM THE ST. JOHNS BRIDGE DOWN TO THE MOUTHS OF THE WILLAMETTE. (ANDY WALGAMOTT)

Salmon/Steelhead 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — 18 bank anglers released one Chinook. No boat effort reported. 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — 26 bank anglers kept eight sockeye. 16 boats/38 rods kept one Chinook jack, and released three Chinook and one jack. 

Section 3 (I-5 Area) — 53 bank anglers kept one Chinook jack and seven sockeye. No boat effort  reported. 

Section 4 (Vancouver) — 55 bank anglers kept two Chinook jacks and 13 sockeye. 4 boats/13 rods  kept one sockeye. 

Section 5 (Woodland) — No bank effort reported. 2 boats/5 rods had no catch.

Section 6 (Kalama) — 21 bank anglers released one sockeye. 3 boats/8 rods had no catch.

Section 7 (Cowlitz) — No effort reported.  

Section 8 (Longview) — 42 bank anglers kept one steelhead. 6 boats/16 rods kept four steelhead  and released one steelhead. 

Section 9 (Cathlamet) — Four bank anglers had no catch. 3 boats/7 rods kept one steelhead.

Section 10 (Cathlamet) — Seven bank anglers kept one steelhead. No boat effort reported.

\Sturgeon 

No effort reported. 

Shad 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — 16 bank anglers kept 70 and released 9 shad. 3 boats/8 rods kept 85 shad.

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — No bank effort reported. 1 boat/1 rod released 12 shad.

Walleye 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — 1 boat/2 rods had no catch. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge downstream) — 50 bank anglers kept three steelhead. 1 boat/4 rods had  no catch. 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge upstream) — 38 bank anglers kept five Chinook, two Chinook jacks, and  released two Chinook. 4 boats/12 rods kept one Chinook and 18 steelhead. 

Kalama River — Five bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported. 

Lewis River — 19 bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported. 

Wind River — No effort reported. 

Drano Lake — Two bank anglers had no catch. 2 boats/3 rods had no catch. 

Klickitat River (below Fisher Hill Bridge) — Two bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported.
