SW WA, Lower Columbia, Lower Willamette Fishing Report (6-16-26)

THE FOLLOWING FISHING REPORTS ORIGINATED WITH WDFW AND ODFW

Preliminary Lower Columbia River and Washington Tributary Sport Summary – June 8-15, 2026

Mainstem Columbia River 

Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam — 387 salmonid boats and 356 Washington bank rods were tallied on the flight count Saturday, June 13. 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — 70 bank anglers kept 10 Chinook, two jacks, and released six Chinook and  two jacks. 2 boats/4 rods kept one Chinook and released one Chinook. 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — Eight bank anglers had no catch. 27 boats/58 rods kept six Chinook. 

Section 3 (I-5 Area) — Four bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported. 

Section 4 (Vancouver) — 50 bank anglers kept four Chinook, one steelhead and released one  Chinook. 35 boats/72 rods kept six Chinook, one jack, one steelhead and released two Chinook and  one jack. 

Section 5 (Woodland) — 39 bank anglers kept one steelhead. 17 boats/37 rods kept four Chinook and three jacks. 

Section 6 (Kalama) — 157 bank anglers kept 11 Chinook and released one Chinook. 42 boats/112 rods kept 23 Chinook, three jacks, and released six Chinook. 

Section 7 (Cowlitz) — No bank effort reported. 3 boats/11 rods kept three Chinook, one jack and  released one Chinook. 

Section 8 (Longview) — 45 bank anglers kept five steelhead and released one steelhead. 29  boats/73 rods kept 16 Chinook and released one Chinook and one sockeye.  

Section 9 (Cathlamet) — 22 bank anglers kept one Chinook. 22 boats/49 rods kept four Chinook,  one jack, 15 steelhead and released three Chinook.

Section 10 (Cathlamet) — No effort reported.  

Sturgeon 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — 2 boats/4 rods had no catch. 

Section 8 (Longview) — 1 boat/3 rods released three legal sturgeon. 

Shad 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — 14 bank angler kept 37 shad and released two shad. 1 boat/2 rods kept 19  shad. 

Section 6 (Kalama) — 1 boat/2 rods had no catch. 

Walleye 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — No effort reported.

CONSIDER THIS YOUR ANNUAL REMINDER THAT JUST BECAUSE THERE’S NO CATCH REPORT FOR SHAD AT THE EASTERN END OF THE COLUMBIA GORGE DOESN’T MEAN YOU CAN’T CATCH ‘EM THERE. JERRY HAN PUT HIS NIECES AND NEPHEWS INTO A WHOLE PILE OF THEM BELOW MCNARY DAM ON A WINDY MID-JUNE DAY A FEW SEASONS AGO WHILE RUNNING SILVER DICK NITES BEHIND DIVERS IN 14 TO 19 FEET OF WATER. Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge downstream) — 54 bank anglers kept one jack. No boat effort reported. 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge upstream) — 83 bank anglers kept 26 Chinook, 18 jacks, one steelhead and  released three Chinook. 17 boats/66 rods kept one Chinook, 33 steelhead and released one Chinook  and two steelhead.  

Kalama River — Six bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported. 

Lewis River — Four bank anglers had no catch. 2 boats/4 rods had no catch. 

Wind River — No effort reported. 

Drano Lake — One bank angler had no catch. 5 boats/10 rods had no catch. 

Klickitat River (below Fisher Hill Bridge) — No effort reported.
