SW WA, Lower Columbia, Gorge Pools Fishing Report (3-21-22)

THE FOLLOWING FISHING REPORT WAS FORWARDED BY BRYANT SPELLMAN, WDFW

Mainstem Columbia River 

Salmon/Steelhead

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 74 bank anglers kept three Chinook, two steelhead and released one Chinook. 2  boats/4 rods had no catch. 

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 7 boats/10 rods had no catch. 

A FEW SPRING CHINOOK ARE TURNING UP FOR BANK AND BOAT ANGLERS ON THE LOWER COLUMBIA RIVER. (CHRIS SPENCER)

Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 9 boats/19 rods had no catch.  

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 26 bank anglers had no catch. 38 boats/80 rods kept one Chinook.

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 39 bank anglers had no catch. 24 boats/46 rods had no catch.

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 15 bank anglers had no catch. 24 boats/62 rods had no catch. 

Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 2 boats/7 rods had no catch. 

Sec 8 (Longview) – 84 bank anglers kept 13 steelhead and released seven steelhead. 41 boats/86 rods kept two Chinook, one steelhead and released one Chinook. 

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 10 bank anglers had no catch. 4 boats/11 rods had no catch. 

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – Three bank anglers had no catch. 51 boats/115 rods kept six Chinook. 

Sturgeon: 

The Dalles Pool – 90.5 percent of 190 fish guideline. 

Walleye: 

Bonneville Pool – No report. 

The Dalles Pool – Seven bank anglers kept seven walleye. 18 boats/41 rods kept 110 walleye.

John Day Pool – No report. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 73 bank rods kept seven steelhead and released one steelhead. 3 boats/6 rods kept two steelhead.  

Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – 41 bank rods kept four steelhead. 18 boats/57 rods kept 47 steelhead.

Kalama River – 13 bank rods had no catch. 1 boat/2 rods kept three steelhead. 

Lewis River – Three bank rods had no catch.
