SW WA, Lower Columbia Fishing Report (9-28-21)
THE FOLLOWING FISHING REPORT WAS FORWARDED BY BRYANT SPELLMAN, WDFW
Mainstem Columbia River
Salmon/Steelhead:
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 21 bank anglers kept five Chinook. 19 boats/50 rods kept 17 Chinook, two Chinook jacks and two coho.
Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 19 boats/47 rods kept 11 Chinook, two coho and released one Chinook.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 20 boats/43 rods kept three Chinook and five coho.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – Three bank anglers had no catch. 35 boats/101 rods kept 26 Chinook, three Chinook jacks, 16 coho and released two Chinook, two Chinook jacks and three coho.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 4 boats/9 rods kept one coho and released one coho.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – 22 bank anglers had no catch. 14 boats/30 rods kept 10 coho and released 16 Chinook and nine coho.
Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 4 boats/11 rods kept one coho.
Sec 8 (Longview) – One bank angler had no catch. 15 boats/28 rods kept two coho, one coho jack and released one Chinook and 14 coho.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – One bank angler had no catch.
Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – No report.
Sturgeon:
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – Five bank anglers released one oversize sturgeon. 2 boats/6 rods had no catch. Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – No report.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 2 boats/4 rods released one sublegal sturgeon.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 6 boats/17 rods released one oversize sturgeon.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 1 boat/3 rods released four sublegal and kept three legal sturgeon.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – Eight bank anglers had no catch. 30 boats/81 rods released nine sublegal, three oversize and kept two legal sturgeon.
Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 5 boats/12 rods released seven sublegal and one oversize sturgeon.
Sec 8 (Longview) – Two bank anglers had no catch. 47 boats/109 rods released 15 sublegal, five oversize and kept two legal sturgeon.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 1 boat/2 rods released one sublegal, one oversize and kept one legal sturgeon.
Columbia River Tributaries
Salmon/Steelhead:
Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – Three bank rods had no catch. 39 boats/102 rods kept 13 coho, six coho jacks, one steelhead and released 29 Chinook, 16 coho and one steelhead.
Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – No report.
Kalama River – 10 bank rods kept one Chinook, one coho and released two Chinook.
Lewis River – 33 bank rods kept two coho and released one Chinook and one coho. 4 boats/8 rods kept four coho jacks.
Wind River – Three bank rods had no catch. 5 boats/15 rods kept three Chinook, four coho and released one Chinook and one coho.
Drano Lake – 2 boats/4 rods released two steelhead.
Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – 12 bank rods kept one Chinook.
Klickitat River above #5 Fishway – Four bank rods had no catch.
Sturgeon:
Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – Seven bank rods had no catch. 8 boats/15 rods released four sublegal and kept one legal sturgeon.
