SW WA, Lower Columbia Fishing Report (9-22-21)
THE FOLLOWING FISHING REPORT WAS FORWARDED BY BRYANT SPELLMAN, WDFW
Mainstem Columbia River
Salmon/Steelhead:
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 70 bank anglers kept 10 Chinook, one Chinook jack, two coho and released one Chinook jack and one coho. 53 boats/128 rods kept 34 Chinook, four Chinook jacks, one coho and released three Chinook and two Chinook jacks.
Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 97 boats/223 rods kept 46 Chinook, seven Chinook jacks, two coho and released two Chinook, two Chinook jacks and four coho.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – One bank angler had no catch. 8 boats/21 rods kept six Chinook, one Chinook jack and two coho.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 21 bank anglers kept one Chinook. 235 boats/559 rods kept 247 Chinook, 41 Chinook jacks, 48 coho, eight coho jacks and released 33 Chinook, six Chinook jack, 68 coho and one steelhead.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 14 bank anglers released one coho. 10 boats/26 rods released one Chinook. Sec 6 (Kalama) – 6 boats/11 rods had no catch.
Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – No report.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 13 boats/32 rods kept 22 coho and released five Chinook and 11 coho. Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – No report.
Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – No report.
Sturgeon:
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 27 bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/3 rods had no catch. Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 3 boats/7 rods released one sublegal sturgeon.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 30 boats/81 rods released 14 sublegal, seven oversize and kept 12 legal sturgeon.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – Three bank anglers had no catch. 15 boats/37 rods released 40 sublegal, nine oversize and kept eight legal sturgeon.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – Six bank anglers had no catch. 16 boats/38 rods released 25 sublegal, six oversize and kept four legal sturgeon.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – 49 boats/138 rods released 42 sublegal, eight oversize and kept 11 legal sturgeon. Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 1 boat/3 rods had no catch.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 37 bank anglers had no catch. 44 boats/117 rods released 13 sublegal, eight oversize and kept eight legal sturgeon.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – No report.
Columbia River Tributaries
Salmon/Steelhead:
Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – No report.
Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – 7 boats/20 rods kept two coho and released 12 Chinook, one coho and one coho jack.
Kalama River – No report.
Lewis River – Four bank rods had no catch. 1 boat/2 rods released one Chinook.
Wind River – 3 boats/6 rods had no catch.
Drano Lake – Four bank rods had no catch. 23 boats/53 rods kept 19 Chinook, four coho and released three Chinook, one coho and two steelhead.
Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – 13 bank rods had no catch.
Klickitat River above #5 Fishway – Two bank rods had no catch.
Sturgeon: Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 21 bank rods released three sublegal and two oversize sturgeon. 19 boats/55 rods released 25 sublegal, five oversize and kept one legal sturgeon
