SW WA, Lower Columbia Fishing Report (8-7-23)

Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary August 1-6, 2023
Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam – 270 salmonid boats and 169 Washington bank rods were tallied during Saturday’s (8/5) flight count.
Mainstem Columbia River
Salmon/Steelhead:
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 38 bank anglers released one steelhead. 1 boat/3 rods had no catch.
Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – One bank angler had no catch. 9 boats/14 rods kept two Chinook and one jack.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – One bank angler had no catch.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 46 bank anglers kept two Chinook and one jack. 12 boats/23 rods kept one Chinook.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 26 bank anglers had no catch. 12 boats/25 rods kept two Chinook.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – 128 bank anglers kept six Chinook and released two Chinook and two steelhead. 6 boats/15 rods had no catch.
Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 9 boats/30 rods kept four Chinook.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 12 bank anglers had no catch. 6 boats/13 rods had no catch.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 18 bank anglers released two steelhead.
Sturgeon:
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 1 boat/2 rods had no catch.
Columbia River Tributaries
Salmon/Steelhead:
Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 32 bank rods had no catch. 1 boat/2 rods had no catch.
Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – Two bank rods had no catch. 9 boats/25 rods kept 22 steelhead.
Kalama River – 13 bank rods released three steelhead.
Lewis River – Six bank rods had no catch. 4 boats/6 rods kept two Chinook.
Wind River – No report.
Drano Lake – Nine bank rods had no catch. 58 boats/145 rods kept 13 Chinook and released one Chinook and 32 steelhead.
Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – No report.
Klickitat River above #5 Fishway – No report.
