SW WA, Lower Columbia Fishing Report (8-22-22)

Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary August 15-21, 2022
Lower Columbia River Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam – 465 salmonid boats and 61 Washington bank rods were tallied during Saturday’s (8/20) flight count.
Mainstem Columbia River
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 29 bank anglers kept two Chinook and one Chinook jack. 5 boats/9 rods kept one Chinook.
Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 38 boats/75 rods kept seven Chinook and one Chinook jack. Sec 3 (I-5 area) – Two bank anglers had no catch. 3 boats/5 rods had no catch.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 35 bank anglers released one Chinook. 20 boats/46 rods kept three Chinook and released one Chinook.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 84 bank anglers kept three Chinook. 58 boats/134 rods kept three Chinook and released four Chinook jacks, two coho and one steelhead.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – 144 bank anglers kept nine Chinook. 29 boats/61 rods kept four Chinook and one Chinook jack.
Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 54 boats/130 rods kept eight Chinook and released one Chinook and one Chinook jack.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 57 bank anglers had no catch. 63 boats/127 rods kept three Chinook and released three steelhead.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – Eight bank anglers had no catch. 33 boats/71 rods kept two Chinook. Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – Two bank anglers had no catch.
Sec 8 (Longview) – One bank angler had no catch.
Columbia River Tributaries
Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – Seven bank rods had no catch.
Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – Nine bank rods had no catch. 7 boats/14 rods kept seven steelhead. Kalama River – No report.
Lewis River – 1 boat/1 rod had no catch.
Wind River – No report.
Drano Lake – No report.
Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – No report.
Klickitat River above #5 Fishway – No report.
