Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary Aug 9-15, 2021

Fishery Reports: 

Lower Columbia mainstem Tongue Point/Rocky Point upstream to Bonneville Dam – 228 salmonid boats and 71 Washington bank rods were tallied during Sunday’s (8/15) flight count. 

Mainstem Columbia River 

Salmon/Steelhead

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – Three bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/3 rods had no catch.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 16 boats/32 rods kept two Chinook and released one steelhead.

Sec 3 (I-5 area) – Seven bank anglers had no catch. 3 boats/7 rods had no catch.

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – Eight bank anglers had no catch. 9 boats/16 rods had no catch.

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 24 bank anglers had no catch. 4 boats/9 rods released one steelhead.

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 21 bank anglers had no catch. 5 boats/12 rods had no catch. 

Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 28 boats/64 rods kept five Chinook and released one Chinook.

Sec 8 (Longview) – 22 bank anglers released three steelhead. 24 boats/50 rods released four steelhead.

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – Two bank anglers had no catch.  

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – No report. 

Sturgeon: 

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – Two bank anglers had no catch. 

Walleye: 

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 2 boats/5 rods kept three walleye. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – No report.  

Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – No report. 

Kalama River – No report.  

Lewis River – 11 bank rods had no catch. 6 boats/13 rods kept one steelhead.

Drano Lake – Four bank rods had no catch. 25 boats/51 rods kept five Chinook, one jack and released one jack and 31 steelhead. 

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – No report. 

Klickitat River above #5 Fishway – 1 boat/3 rods had no catch.
