Preliminary Lower Columbia River and Washington Tributary Sport Summary – June 30 – July 6, 2025

Mainstem Columbia River 

Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam — 32 salmonid  boats and 171 Washington bank rods were tallied on the flight count Saturday, July 5.

Salmon/Steelhead 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — 50 bank anglers kept one Chinook jack, four steelhead, seven sockeye, and  released six Chinook, one jack, and 14 steelhead. 1 boat/2 rods had no catch. 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — 23 bank anglers had no catch. 4 boats/6 rods released one  Chinook, one jack, and one steelhead. 

Section 3 (I-5 Area) — 13 bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/3 rods had no catch. 

Section 4 (Vancouver) — 32 bank anglers kept four steelhead, and released seven steelhead and one sockeye. 3 boats/6 rods had no catch. 

Section 5 (Woodland) — 23 bank anglers kept one sockeye. 2 boats/5 rods had no catch. 

Section 6 (Kalama) — 77 bank anglers kept two steelhead and released one steelhead. No boat  effort reported. 

Section 7 (Cowlitz) — No effort reported.  

Section 8 (Longview) — 39 bank anglers kept one steelhead and one sockeye. 10 boats/14 rods kept  one steelhead and released two steelhead. 

Section 9 (Cathlamet) — 10 bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/1 rod had no catch.

Section 10 (Cathlamet) — Two bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported.

Sturgeon 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — One bank angler had no catch. No boat effort reported.

Shad

Section 1 (Bonneville) — Eight bank anglers kept nine shad and released two shad. No boat effort  reported. 

Walleye 

No effort reported. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge downstream) — 15 bank anglers kept two steelhead. No boat effort  reported. 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge upstream) — Six bank anglers had no catch. 4 boats/5 rods kept four  steelhead. 

Kalama River — Four bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported. 

Lewis River — No bank effort reported. 3 boats/5 rods had no catch. 

Wind River — No effort reported. 

Drano Lake — Ten bank anglers kept five Chinook and three jacks. 5 boats/12 rods kept 10 Chinook  and one jack. 

Klickitat River (below Fisher Hill Bridge) — No effort reported.
