SW WA, Lower Columbia Fishing Report (7-8-24)

Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary July 1-7, 2024

Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam – 91 salmonid boats and 263 Washington bank rods were tallied during Saturday’s (7/6) flight count.

Mainstem Columbia River 

Salmon/Steelhead

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 25 bank anglers kept two steelhead, released two sockeye and nine steelhead. 2 boats/4 rods kept one steelhead and released two steelhead.  

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – No report. 

Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 13 bank anglers kept one steelhead and released one steelhead.  

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 20 bank anglers released one sockeye and two steelhead. 2 boats/3 rods had no  catch. 

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 31 bank anglers kept one jack and one steelhead. 5 boats/7 rods had no catch. 

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 76 bank anglers kept nine steelhead, released one Chinook, six sockeye and five steelhead. 3 boats/6 rods released one Chinook. 

Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 1 boat/2 rods kept one steelhead. 

Sec 8 (Longview) – 58 bank anglers kept nine steelhead, released one Chinook and three steelhead. 17 boats/37 rods kept six steelhead and released two steelhead.  

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 11 bank anglers kept one steelhead. 11 boats/23 rods kept five steelhead and  released one steelhead. 

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – Eight bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/2 rods had no catch. 

Sturgeon: 

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 1 boat/2 rods released two sublegal and one oversize sturgeon.

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 1 boat/1 rod released two sublegal and two legal sturgeon. 

Sec 8 (Longview) – 1 boat/2 rods released two sublegal and one oversize sturgeon. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 33 bank rods kept one jack and four steelhead.

Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – 10 bank rods kept one steelhead. 14 boats/55 rods kept 44 steelhead. 

Kalama River – No report.

Lewis River – No report. 

Wind River – No report. 

Drano Lake – No report.  

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – No report.

Klickitat River above #5 Fishway – No report.
