SW WA, Lower Columbia Fishing Report (7-6-21)

Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary June 28-July 5, 2021

Fishery Reports: 

Mainstem Columbia River 

Salmon/Steelhead

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 117 bank anglers kept 7 Chinook and released 10 Chinook, two jacks, one sockeye  and one steelhead. 5 boats/8 rods kept one Chinook and released three Chinook.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 7 boats/13 rods had no catch. 

Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 83 bank anglers kept eight sockeye, one steelhead and released two Chinook and one  steelhead. 5 boats/7 rods released one Chinook. 

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 69 bank anglers kept five Chinook, two jacks and released one steelhead. 44 boats/89 rods kept three Chinook, one sockeye and released three Chinook and one jack.

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 24 bank anglers had no catch. 10 boats/26 rods kept one Chinook and released one  Chinook. 

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 206 bank anglers kept 10 Chinook, one jack, one steelhead and released five Chinook and two steelhead. 53 boats/115 rods kept 10 Chinook, one sockeye and released six Chinook. 

Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 22 boats/56 rods kept 11 Chinook and released one Chinook. 

Sec 8 (Longview) – 137 bank anglers kept three sockeye, four steelhead and released one steelhead. 51 boats/108 rods kept one Chinook, three steelhead and released two Chinook and three steelhead. 

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 28 bank anglers kept one Chinook, one jack, two sockeye, three steelhead and  released two steelhead. 4 boats/9 rods kept five steelhead and released one Chinook. 

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – Two bank anglers had no catch. 

Sturgeon: 

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 1 boat/3 rods released nine sublegal and one oversize sturgeon. 

Shad

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 40 bank anglers kept 131 shad. 4 boats/8 rods kept 79 shad.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 1 boat/2 rods kept 20 shad. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River – I-5 Br downstream – 22 bank rods had no catch. 1 boat/2 rods kept two steelhead.  

Above the I-5 Br – 20 bank rods kept six steelhead. 15 boats/50 rods kept one Chinook and 40  steelhead. 

Kalama River – No report.  

Lewis River – 3 boats/5 rods kept two steelhead. 

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – Four bank rods had no catch.
