SW WA, Lower Columbia Fishing Report (7-13-21)

Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary July 6-11, 2021

Lower Columbia mainstem Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam – 60 salmonid boats and 186 Washington bank rods were tallied during Saturday’s (6/10) flight count.

Mainstem Columbia River

Salmon/Steelhead:

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 14 bank anglers released three Chinook and two steelhead.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – No report.

Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 34 bank anglers kept two steelhead and released one Chinook and four steelhead.

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 12 bank anglers had no catch. 8 boats/14 rods had no catch.

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 32 bank anglers kept two steelhead and released two steelhead. 2 boats/2 rods
released four Chinook.

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 69 bank anglers kept one sockeye, two steelhead and released two Chinook. 4 boats/8
rods had no catch.

Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 4 boats/11 rods had no catch.

Sec 8 (Longview) – 157 bank anglers kept five sockeye, 11 steelhead and released one Chinook, one sockeye and 17 steelhead. 29 boats/69 rods kept two sockeye, 12 steelhead and released 11 steelhead.

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 31 bank anglers kept one sockeye, four steelhead and released one Chinook, and one steelhead. 7 boats/19 rods kept four sockeye, seven steelhead and released 14 steelhead.

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – Five bank anglers had no catch.

Sturgeon:

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 2 boats/5 rods released six oversize sturgeon.

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 1 boat/4 rods released six sublegal, four legal and two oversize sturgeon.

Sec 8 (Longview) – 3 boats/10 rods released nine sublegal, four legal and two oversize sturgeon.

Walleye:

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 2 boats/3 rods had no catch.

Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 1 boat/2 rods had no catch.

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 4 boats/7 rods had no catch.

Columbia River Tributaries

Salmon/Steelhead:

Cowlitz River – I-5 Br downstream – 41 bank rods kept seven steelhead.

Above the I-5 Br – 29 bank rods kept three steelhead. 25 boats/80 rods kept 44 steelhead.

Kalama River – Two bank rods had no catch.

Lewis River – Two bank rods had no catch.
