
SW WA, Lower Columbia Fishing Report (6-7-21)
THE FOLLOWING FISHING REPORT WAS FORWARDED BY BRYANT SPELLMAN, WDFW
Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary May 31-June 6, 2021
Salmon/Steelhead:
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 204 bank anglers kept 22 Chinook, three jacks and released 13 Chinook and three jacks. 3 boats/7 rods kept one Chinook.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 21 boats/41 rods released three Chinook.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – Three bank anglers had no catch.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 33 bank anglers released two Chinook and one jack. 26 boats/46 rods kept six Chinook and one jack.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 54 bank anglers kept one Chinook and released one Chinook and one sockeye. 8 boats/19 rods had no catch.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – 110 bank anglers kept eight Chinook, one jack and released three Chinook and one steelhead. 38 boats/85 rods kept six Chinook, four jacks and released three Chinook.
Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 10 boats/39 rods kept four Chinook, one jack and released one Chinook.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 44 bank anglers kept one Chinook, two steelhead and released one sockeye and one steelhead. 36 boats/73 rods kept three Chinook and released two Chinook.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – Eight bank anglers kept one Chinook, one jack and two steelhead. 3 boats/7 rods kept one steelhead.
Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – 7 boats/13 rods kept one Chinook.
Sturgeon:
Sec 6 (Kalama) – 1 boat/4 rods released six legal, three sublegal and two oversize sturgeon. Sec 8 (Longview) – 1 boat/3 rods released three legal, two sublegal and five oversize sturgeon.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 10 boats/25 rods kept three legal and released five sublegal and nine oversize sturgeon.
Sec 10 (Chinook/Deep River/Elochoman) – 47 bank anglers kept two legal and released one sublegal and two oversize sturgeon. 319 boats/964 rods kept 173 legal and released 250 sublegal and 427 oversize sturgeon.
Shad:
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 71 bank anglers kept 699 shad and released 11 shad. 4 boats/9 rods kept 169 shad.
Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 5 boats/10 rods kept nine shad.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 2 boats/4 rods kept four shad.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 4 boats/9 rods kept 36 shad and released 20 shad.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – 8 boats/15 rods kept 104 shad.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 2 boats/6 rods kept 56 shad.
Columbia River Tributaries
Salmon/Steelhead:
Cowlitz River – I-5 Br downstream – 22 bank rods kept one steelhead and released one steelhead.
Above the I-5 Br – 10 bank rods kept four steelhead. 4 boats/12 rods kept five steelhead and released three Chinook.
Kalama River – No report.
Lewis River – One boat/1 rod had no catch.
Wind River – No report.
Drano Lake – 8 boats/16 rods kept one Chinook.
Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – Four bank rods kept two Chinook.
