SW WA, Lower Columbia Fishing Report (6-1-21)

Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary May 24-30, 2021

Mainstem Columbia River 

Salmon/Steelhead

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 85 bank anglers kept six Chinook, one jack and released one Chinook and one jack.  4 boats/7 rods kept one Chinook and released one Chinook and one jack. 

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 17 boats/39 rods kept two Chinook, two jacks and released one Chinook  and one jack.

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 17 bank anglers kept four Chinook. 6 boats/11 rods had no catch.

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 38 bank anglers released one steelhead. 6 boats/10 rods had no catch.

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 22 bank anglers kept one jack and released one jack. 6 boats/14 rods kept one jack. 

Sec 8 (Longview) – 99 bank anglers kept four steelhead and released one Chinook. 20 boats/44 rods  kept two steelhead and released one Chinook. 

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 28 bank anglers kept one steelhead. 5 boats/11 rods had no catch. 

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – Seven bank anglers had no catch. 8 boats/22 rods kept three Chinook, one jack,  two steelhead and released one Chinook.  

Sturgeon: 

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 1 boat/5 rods released four legal, ten sublegal and three oversize sturgeon. 

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 7 boats/17 rods kept one legal and released three sublegal and two oversize  sturgeon. 

Sec 10 (Chinook/Deep River/Elochoman) – 55 bank anglers had no catch. 249 boats/729 rods kept 73 legal and released 145 sublegal and 168 oversize sturgeon.

Shad

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 17 bank anglers kept 126 shad. 1 boat/2 rods had no catch.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 1 boat/2 rods had no catch. 

Sec 5 (Woodland) – Two bank anglers kept 15 shad. 

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 6 boats/13 rods kept 20 shad and released 12 shad. 

Sec 8 (Longview) – 8 boat/13 rods kept 22 shad. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River – I-5 Br downstream – 23 bank rods had no catch. 1 boat/1 rod had no catch.  

Above the I-5 Br – Seven bank rods had no catch. 5 boats/17 rods kept two steelhead and released one  steelhead. 

Kalama River – 17 bank rods had no catch.  

Lewis River – One bank rod had no catch. 

Wind River – Seven bank rods had no catch. 10 boats/18 rods kept three Chinook and released one  Chinook. 

Drano Lake – 4 bank rods had no catch. 18 boats/29 rods kept three Chinook and released two Chinook.

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – Six bank rods had no catch.
