Fishery Reports: 

Salmon/Steelhead: 

Mainstem Lower Columbia River 

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 13 bank anglers had no catch. 9 boats/19 rods released five Chinook.

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 21 bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/2 rods had no catch. 

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 35 bank anglers had no catch. 6 boats/12 rods kept one steelhead. 

Sec 8 (Longview) – 164 bank anglers kept one Chinook jack, one sockeye, five steelhead and released four Chinook. 34 boats/82 rods kept one Chinook jack, one sockeye, three steelhead and released two Chinook. 

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 82 bank anglers kept four steelhead and released one Chinook and one steelhead. 10 boats/34 rods kept one Chinook jack, three steelhead and released six Chinook. 

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – 14 bank anglers had no catch. 4 boats/9 rods had no catch. 

Sturgeon: 

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 1 boat/2 rods released one legal sturgeon and eight sublegal sturgeon. 

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 1 boat/2 rods released three legal sturgeon, four sublegal and one oversize. 

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 1 boat/3 rods released four sublegal sturgeon. 

Shad: 

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – Four bank anglers had no catch. 3 boats/10 rods kept 13 shad. 

Sec 5 (Woodland) – 1 boat/2 rods kept 4 shad. 

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 19 boats/48 rods kept 112 shad. 

Sec 8 (Longview) – 11 boats/33 rods kept 92 shad and released 99 shad. 

Salmon/Steelhead: 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Cowlitz River – I-5 Br downstream: 3 bank rods had no catch. 

Above the I-5 Br: 15 bank rods kept one steelhead. 2 boats/3 rods had no catch.


Tacoma Power employees recovered 53 spring Chinook adults, 68 spring Chinook jacks, 19 winter-run steelhead adults, and 17 summer-run steelhead adults during four days of operations at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator. 

During the past week, Tacoma Power released 31 spring Chinook adults, three spring Chinook jacks, and three winter-run steelhead adults into Lake Scanewa in Randle. 

Tacoma Power also released 5,000 rainbow trout into Mayfield Lake last week. 

River flows at Mayfield Dam are approximately 8,410 cubic feet per second on Monday, June 1, 2020. Water visibility is 10 feet and the water temperature is 48.6 F. 

Kalama River – 32 bank anglers had no catch. 6 boats/12 rods kept one steelhead. 

Lewis River – Seven bank anglers had no catch. 3 boats/4 rods had no catch.


Wind River Mouth – 10 bank rods had no catch. 6 boats/11 rods kept 1 Chinook. 

Wind River above Shipherd Falls – Three bank rods had no catch. 

Drano Lake – 11 boats/24 rods kept two Chinook. 

Klickitat below Fisher Hill Bridge – Eight bank anglers kept one Chinook.
