Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary April 1-7, 2024
Mainstem Columbia River
Salmon/Steelhead:
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 267 bank anglers kept seven Chinook and released three Chinook and one steelhead. 5 boats/11 rods had no catch.
Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 17 boats/30 rods kept one Chinook.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 14 boats/28 rods kept six Chinook and released one Chinook.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 10 bank anglers had no catch. 109 boats/236 rods kept 21 Chinook and released one Chinook.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – Two bank anglers had no catch. 53 boats/124 rods kept seven Chinook.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – 38 bank anglers had no catch. 47 boats/119 rods kept nine Chinook and released one Chinook.
Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 24 boats/66 rods kept six Chinook.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 59 bank anglers kept two steelhead. 137 boats/289 rods kept 17 Chinook and released one Chinook.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – Nine bank anglers released one steelhead. 83 boats/204 rods kept 33 Chinook, one jack and released two Chinook.
Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – 82 boats/204 rods kept 23 Chinook and released one Chinook.
Columbia River Tributaries
Salmon/Steelhead:
Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 68 bank rods kept two steelhead and released one Chinook.
Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – 30 bank rods kept three steelhead. 15 boats/52 rods kept 32 steelhead and released one steelhead.
Kalama River – No report.
Lewis River – No report.
Wind River – No report.
Drano Lake – 1 boat/2 rods had no catch.
