Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary February 27-March 5, 2023
Fishery Reports:
Mainstem Columbia River
Salmon/Steelhead:
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – One bank angler had no catch.
Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – No report.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – No report.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – Three bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/1 rod had no catch.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 14 bank anglers had no catch.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – Five bank anglers had no catch. 4 boats/6 rods released one Chinook.
Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 1 boat/1 rod had no catch.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 46 bank anglers kept one steelhead and released two steelhead. 13 boats/27 rods
had no catch.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – Five bank anglers had no catch. 1 boat/1 rod had no catch.
Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – 1 boat/1 rod had no catch.
Columbia River Tributaries
Salmon/Steelhead:
Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 87 bank rods kept three steelhead.
Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – 19 bank rods kept one steelhead and released one steelhead. 5
boats/17 rods kept 11 steelhead and released one steelhead.
Kalama River – No report.
Lewis River – No report.
