SW WA, Lower Columbia Fishing Report (10-24-22)

Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary October 17-23, 2022

Fishery Reports: 

Mainstem Columbia River 

Salmon/Steelhead

Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 17 bank anglers kept one coho, and released one Chinook and three coho. 

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 14 boats/23 rods kept two coho.  

Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 1 boat/2 rods had no catch.  

Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 4 boats/10 rods kept three coho, and released one Chinook jack.

AN ANGLER NETS A COHO ON A LOWER COLUMBIA TRIBUTARY IN MID-OCTOBER. (ANDY WALGAMOTT)

Sec 5 (Woodland) – One bank angler had no catch. 9 boats/15 rods kept six coho.

Sec 6 (Kalama) – 1 boats/2 rods released one coho. 

Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 1 boat/1 rod had no catch.

Sec 8 (Longview) – 7 bank anglers had no catch. 7 boats/14 rods kept three coho.

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – No report.  

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – 1 boat/1 rod had no catch. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 10 bank rods released one coho. 6 boats/17 rods kept 10 coho and  released three coho.  

Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – 15 bank rods released seven Chinook and three coho.  

Kalama River – 37 bank rods kept four coho, and released three coho. 4 rods/2 boats kept six coho, and  released one Chinook and four coho. 

Lewis River – 127 bank rods kept 42 coho, two coho jacks and one steelhead, and released 17 coho. 26 boats/54 rods kept 11 coho, and released one coho. 

Wind River – No report. 

Drano Lake – 83 bank rods kept one Chinook, seven coho, and released 13 Chinook, two Chinook jacks,  two coho and one white sturgeon. 38 boats/115 rods kept nine Chinook, one Chinook jack, 56 coho,  two steelhead, and released 15 Chinook, three Chinook jacks and 15 coho. 

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge– No report. 

Klickitat River above #5 Fishway – No report.
