Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary October 9th-15th, 2023
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 88 bank anglers kept ten Chinook, three Chinook jacks, and released one coho. 9 boats/22 rods kept 11 Chinook and four chinook jacks and three coho.
Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 45 boats/91 rods kept 16 Chinook, one Chinook jack, eight coho and released two Chinook, two Chinook jacks and four coho and five coho jacks.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – No report.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – 5 boats/11 rods kept three Chinook and 1 coho.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 3 boats/6 rods kept one Chinook.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – 10 bank anglers had no catch. 5 boats/9 rods kept three Chinook and one Chinook jack. Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – No report.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 1 boat/2 rods had no catch.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – No report.
Columbia River Tributaries
Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 10 bank rods kept 3 coho jacks.
Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – 41 bank rods kept three coho, three coho jack, two steelhead and released two Chinook, one coho jacks and t steelhead.
Kalama River – 9 bank rods kept one coho jack.
Lewis River – 83 bank rods kept 24 coho, one coho jack and released two coho. 2 boats/3 rods kept one coho jack.
Wind River – Seven bank rods released one Chinook jack. 9 boats/16 rods kept two Chinook and three coho and released and one coho.
Drano Lake – 14 bank rods had no catch. 36 boats/111 rods kept 25 Chinook and 42 coho and released six Chinook and two Chinook jacks, one coho, and one steelhead.
Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – 18 bank rods kept one Chinook, five coho and released one Chinook.
Klickitat River above #5 Fishway – No report.
