WDFW Preliminary Lower Columbia River and Washington Tributary Sport Summary – October 6-12, 2025
Mainstem Columbia River
Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam — 159 salmonid boats and 42 Washington bank rods were tallied on the flight count Saturday, October 11.

Salmon/Steelhead
Section 1 (Bonneville) — Six bank anglers kept four coho. 5 boats/15 rods kept four coho, and released seven Chinook and five jacks.
Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — Three bank anglers had no catch. 21 boats/38 rods kept seven coho, and released two Chinook, three coho and two coho jacks.
Section 3 (I-5 Area) — No effort reported.
Section 4 (Vancouver) — One bank angler had no catch. 17 boats/28 rods kept 11 coho and three coho jacks.
Section 5 (Woodland) — Two bank anglers had no catch. 3 boats/6 rods kept five coho, and released two Chinook, one coho and one coho jack.
Section 6 (Kalama) — 41 bank anglers kept five coho and one coho jack. 12 boats/23 rods kept 19 coho, and released two Chinook and one coho jack.
Section 7 (Cowlitz) — No bank effort reported. 3 boats/11 rods kept five coho and released one Chinook.
Section 8 (Longview) — Five bank anglers had no catch. 5 boats/11 rods kept four coho.
Section 9 (Cathlamet) — No effort reported.

Columbia River Tributaries
Salmon/Steelhead
Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge downstream) — 19 bank anglers kept 10 coho, two coho jacks and released two coho jacks. 1 boat/2 rods released two Chinook jacks.
Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge upstream) — 93 bank anglers kept four coho, two steelhead, released 10 Chinook, three coho jacks and one steelhead. 4 boats/10 rods released two Chinook.
Kalama River — 18 bank rods kept one coho, released three Chinook, two steelhead and four coho. No boat effort reported.
Lewis River — 51 bank anglers kept one Chinook, six coho and released two Chinook. 4 boats/7 rods kept one Chinook, one steelhead, and released one jack Chinook and two coho.
Wind River — 11 bank anglers kept one Chinook, one coho, and released three Chinook and one coho. 32 boats/68 rods kept one Chinook, 98 coho, and released three Chinook and 22 coho.
Drano Lake — 50 bank anglers kept three coho and released six Chinook. 57 boats/180 rods kept 45 Chinook, nine jacks, 87 coho and released 14 coho.

WDFW 2025 Hanford Reach Sport Fishery
The Hanford Reach fall salmon sport fishery from October 7 through October 13. WDFW staff interviewed anglers from 305 boats (1,016 anglers) with 548 adult Chinook. Based on sampling, an estimated 2,149 adult Chinook were harvested from 3,765 angler trips (1,221 boats) in the ninth week of the fishery.

ODFW Buoy 10 Columbia Catch Summaries
From Monday, October 6 through Thursday, October 9, 2025 Oregon creel samplers contacted 49 boats (123 anglers) for 45 Coho (averaged 0.34 fish/rod) kept; and 1 Chinook and 25 Coho released.
