THE FOLLOWING FISHING REPORTS ORIGINATED WITH WDFW AND ODFW

Preliminary Lower Columbia River and Washington Tributary Sport Summary – Aug 11-17, 2025

WDFW

Mainstem Columbia River 

Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam — 537 salmonid boats and 154 Washington bank rods were tallied on the flight count Saturday, August 16.

Salmon/Steelhead 

Section 1 (Bonneville) — 55 bank anglers kept four steelhead and released one steelhead. 12 boats/31 rods kept two steelhead and released one Chinook and one steelhead. 

Section 2 (Camas/Washougal) — 10 bank anglers had no catch. 53 boats/108 rods kept one Chinook and two steelhead. 

Section 3 (I-5 Area) — Seven bank anglers had no catch. 10 boats/19 rods kept one Chinook, two  steelhead and released one steelhead. 

Section 4 (Vancouver) — 29 bank anglers had no catch. 59 boats/122 rods kept seven Chinook, one  steelhead and released two Chinook and two Chinook jacks. 

Section 5 (Woodland) — 48 bank anglers kept one Chinook, one steelhead and released one steelhead. 75 boats/151 rods kept 14 Chinook, two steelhead and released one Chinook jack and one coho jack .  

Section 6 (Kalama) — 257 bank anglers kept nine Chinook, seven steelhead and released six steelhead. 35 boats/82 rods kept six Chinook, one Chinook jack and three steelhead. 

Section 7 (Cowlitz) — 41 boats/107 rods kept 16 Chinook, one Chinook jack, one coho, two  steelhead and released one Chinook jack and one steelhead. 

Section 8 (Longview) — 117 bank anglers kept two Chinook, five steelhead and released two steelhead. 75 boats/157 rods kept seven Chinook, two Chinook jacks, six steelhead and released  four Chinook.  

Section 9 (Cathlamet) — 15 bank anglers kept three steelhead and released two steelhead. 28 boats/58 rods kept one Chinook, two steelhead and released one Chinook and one steelhead. 

Section 10 (Cathlamet) — No bank effort reported. 5 boats/10 rods released three steelhead.

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife 1 

Sturgeon 

Section 6 (Kalama) — 1 boat/3 rods released three sub legal and six oversize sturgeon.

Shad

Walleye 

No effort reported. 

Columbia River Tributaries 

Salmon/Steelhead 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge downstream) — Five bank anglers had no catch. No boat effort reported. 

Cowlitz River (I-5 Bridge upstream) — Five bank anglers had no catch. 10 boats/37 rods kept 18 steelhead. 

Kalama River — 19 bank anglers had no catch. 

Lewis River — 23 bank anglers had no catch. 17 boats/34 rods kept one Chinook and released two  Chinook. 

Wind River — No effort reported. 

Drano Lake — 43 bank anglers kept one steelhead. 85 boats/220 rods kept eight Chinook, three  Chinook jacks, 24 steelhead and released four Chinook, one coho and 72 steelhead. 

Klickitat River (below Fisher Hill Bridge) — No effort reported.
