Preliminary Washington tributary sport sampling summary April 17-23, 2023

Salmon/Steelhead:

Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 28 bank rods kept one steelhead.

SEA LIONS HAVE BEEN THICK IN SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON TRIBS THIS MONTH. THESE WERE SPOTTED IN THE LOWER COWLITZ TWO WEEKENDS AGO; OTHERS MADE AN APPEARANCE 70 MILES UPRIVER AT BARRIER DAM. (BOB SPAUR)

Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – 37 bank rods kept one steelhead and released two steelhead. 6
boats/14 rods had no catch.

Kalama River – 43 bank rods had no catch. 4 boats/10 rods had no catch.

Lewis River – 20 bank rods kept one Chinook. 15 boats/34 rods kept five Chinook and released four
Chinook.

Wind River – 16 bank rods kept one Chinook. 31 boats/63 rods kept two Chinook.

Drano Lake – 13 bank rods had no catch. 68 boats/153 rods kept nine Chinook and released two
Chinook.

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – One bank rod had no catch.
