Nez Perce Wallowa Homeland Recipient of Zumwalt Prairie Hunting Tag Donation

THE FOLLOWING IS A PRESS RELEASE FROM NEZ PERCE WALLOWA

The Nez Perce Wallowa Homeland (NPWH) is pleased to announce that they are a recipient of a Zumwalt Prairie Bull Elk Landowner Preference Hunting Tag donated by The Nature Conservancy. NPWH will be selling raffle tickets for the Bull Elk tag and a 3-day guided hunt starting February 1st, 2022. Raffle tickets will be sold for $50 per ticket, with only 200 tickets to be sold. In order to ensure opportunity for Native people to participate in the raffle, 50 tickets will be reserved for Native people only until March 1st. Tickets are available online at www.wallowanezperce.org/elk-tag-raffle. The raffle will close no later than March 27th and the winner will be announced live (date and time TBD).

Nez Perce Wallowa Homeland is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enrich relationships among Wallowa Band Nez Perce descendants and the contemporary inhabitants of Wallowa, to create a physical place to preserve and celebrate Native culture, and to tell the Nez Perce story in Wallowa. Proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets will support NPWH’s annual Snake River School float trip, a multi-day outing for Native youth to learn STEM and TEK from tribal instructors while connecting with their ancestral homeland by boat.
