Moose, Three-deer Tags To Be Auctioned Off At 26th Annual Seattle Sportsmen’s Convention

Two Washington big game auction tags will be up for grabs at the 26th annual Seattle Sportsmen’s Convention in early March.

Organizers with the Seattle Sportsmen’s Conservation Foundation and the Seattle Puget Sound Chapter of Safari Club International say they’ve secured the state moose and three-deer tags for their fundraiser, scheduled for the afternoon and evening of Saturday, March 7 at the Lynnwood Event Center.

Those permits are among many items up for auction in support of the motto “Together … Working for Wildlife.”

Tag auction proceeds “generate revenue specifically for the management of the hunted species,” according to WDFW, and recent years have seen the convention’s winning bid for the bull moose tag come in at $50,000 and the blacktail, whitetail and mule deer buck tag pull in $48,000. Seasons run September 1-December 31.

Others items up for auction next month include salmon, steelhead and Mexican fishing trips, an African safari, British Columbia and Alaska hunts, taxidermy credits, hunting gear, clothing and more.

Doors open at 2 p.m., followed by a door prize drawing, happy hour, raffles and a silent auction, dinner, and more.

Money raised via the convention will go toward “hunter advocacy, wildlife conservation, hunts and fishing excursions for veterans, youth hunting programs, habitat preservation and game management in Washington State and across the U.S.,” according to organizers.
