Columbia, SW WA Fishing Report (7-27-21)

Preliminary Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary July 19-25, 2021
Lower Columbia mainstem Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam – 43 salmonid boats and 118 Washington bank rods were tallied during Saturday’s (6/24) flight count.
Mainstem Columbia River
Sec 1 (Bonneville) – 26 bank anglers kept one steelhead and released two Chinook and three steelhead. 1 boat/2 rods had no catch.
Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) – 1 boat/2 rods had no catch.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 65 bank anglers kept three steelhead and released one Chinook, two jacks and six steelhead.
Sec 4 (Vancouver) – Two bank anglers had no catch. 4 boats/10 rods released two steelhead.
Sec 5 (Woodland) – 14 bank anglers had no catch. 4 boats/5 rods kept two steelhead and released one steelhead.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – 72 bank anglers kept one jack, three steelhead and released seven steelhead. 5 boats/11 rods released one steelhead.
Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 2 boats/7 rods kept one steelhead and released one Chinook and one jack.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 88 bank anglers kept six steelhead and released six steelhead. 15 boats/31 rods kept one jack and three steelhead.
Sec 9 (Cathlamet) – 13 bank anglers kept one steelhead. 6 boats/17 rods kept nine steelhead and released one steelhead.
Sec 10 (Cathlamet) – One bank angler had no catch. 1 boat/4 rods had no catch.
Sec 3 (I-5 area) – 1 boat/3 rods had no catch.
Sec 6 (Kalama) – Two bank anglers released one sublegal sturgeon. 1 boat/3 rods released 12 sublegal and three legal sturgeon.
Sec 7 (Cowlitz) – 1 boat/4 rods released two legal sturgeon.
Sec 8 (Longview) – 1 boat/4 rods released two sublegal and one legal sturgeon.
Columbia River Tributaries
Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 22 bank rods kept two steelhead. 1 boat/2 rods kept one steelhead.
Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – 13 bank rods kept two steelhead and one cutthroat. 21 boats/73 rods kept 36 steelhead.
Kalama River – 13 bank rods had no catch.
Lewis River – 12 bank rods kept one steelhead and released one steelhead. 4 boats/5 rods released one Chinook.
Drano Lake – 6 boats/16 rods kept six Chinook and released one Chinook and one steelhead.
Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – Two bank rods released one steelhead.
Klickitat River above #5 Fishway – No report.
