Columbia Gorge Pools Fishing Report (1-18-22)

Updates: Mainstem and tributary 

Columbia River Mainstem 

Sturgeon: 

Columbia River, Buoy 10 upstream to Bonneville Dam, including adjacent tributaries: Catch and release fishing only. Fishing for sturgeon at night is closed.

Bonneville Pool: 

Effective January 1, 2022 until the annual guideline has been met: Open 7 days per week for retention of  sturgeon between 38” and 54” fork length. Fishing for sturgeon at night is closed. 

The Dalles Pool: 

Effective January 1 through January 26, 2022: Open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays only for  retention of sturgeon between 43” and 54” fork length. Catch and release fishing for sturgeon is allowed  on days not open to retention. Fishing for sturgeon at night is closed. 

John Day Pool:  

Effective January 1, 2022 until the annual guideline has been met: Open 7 days per week for retention of  sturgeon between 43” and 54” fork length. Fishing for sturgeon at night is closed.

Mainstem Columbia River 

Sturgeon: 

Walleye: 

Bonneville Pool – 1 boat/2 rods kept one walleye and released one walleye. 

The Dalles Pool – Three bank anglers kept one walleye. 9 boats/14 rods kept 16 walleye and released  two walleye. 

John Day Pool – 18 boats/30 rods kept 28 walleye and released seven walleye.
