Columbia Gorge Fishing Report (1-10-22)

THE FOLLOWING FISHING REPORT WAS FORWARDED BY BRYANT SPELLMAN, WDFW

Sturgeon: 

Columbia River, Buoy 10 upstream to Bonneville Dam, including adjacent tributaries: Catch and release fishing only. Fishing for sturgeon at night is closed. 

Bonneville Pool: 

Effective January 1, 2022 until the annual guideline has been met: Open 7 days per week for retention of  sturgeon between 38” and 54” fork length.  

The Dalles Pool: 

Effective January 1 through January 26, 2022: Open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays only for  retention of sturgeon between 43” and 54” fork length. Catch and release fishing for sturgeon is allowed  on days not open to retention.  

John Day Pool:  

Effective January 1, 2022 until the annual guideline has been met: Open 7 days per week for retention of  sturgeon between 43” and 54” fork length.

Sturgeon: 

MIKE BOLT HOLDS A PAIR OF STURG-CICLES, KEEPERS THAT HE AND NATHAN CRAIG CAUGHT EARLIER THIS MONTH ON A COLUMBIA GORGE POOL. (FISHING PHOTO CONTEST)

Walleye: 

Bonneville Pool – No report. 

The Dalles Pool – Five bank anglers kept two walleye. 2 boats/4 rods kept five walleye.

John Day Pool – 3 boats/6 rods kept four walleye and released three walleye.
