Camping, Fire Restrictions Still In Effect On Hancock TMAs In NE Oregon, ODFW Advises

THE FOLLOWING IS A PRESS RELEASE FROM THE OREGON DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE

Hunters need to be aware that all Hancock Forest Management lands in northeast Oregon are currently at a Stage 2 regulated use closure.

SHAMROCK IS ONE OF FIVE TRAVEL MANAGEMENT AREAS IN NORTHEAST OREGON STILL UNDER NO-CAMPING, NO-FIRE AND OTHER RESTRICTIONS. (ODFW)

The restrictions impact Hancock properties in the travel management areas Shamrock, Whiskey Cr, Noregaard, Little Catherine Cr, Meacham and any other Hancock properties enrolled in the A&H program in northeast Oregon.

While the Stage 2 closure is in effect, rules on these properties include:

  • No camping
  • No non-industrial chainsaw use
  • No open flame of any kind including propane
  • No ATV or UTV use
  • All native surface dirt – roads closed to motor vehicles
  • Rocked roads with vegetation growing on the road surface closed to motor vehicles
  • Leased cabin use allowed with the before mentioned restrictions
