Biden Restores Hunter Ed, Archery Program Funding

The National Wildlife Federation heralded the successful bipartisan effort to restore Department of Education funding for archery and hunter safety education programs, which will benefit millions of youth and future conservation champions. President Joe Biden signed the legislation, passed with nearly unanimous support in the House and Senate, to clarify the intent of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.

“We are deeply appreciative of the quick, bipartisan action taken by leaders in Congress and the Biden Administration to restore funding for programs that encourage children to have a deep respect and appreciation for wildlife, archery and firearm safety, and habitat conservation,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “It is imperative that we do all we can to grow the next generation of conservationists by expanding wildlife, outdoor recreation, and climate education programs in our elementary and secondary schools.”
