Funding For New 11,400-acre State-Tribal Wildlife Area Buy Near La Grande Awarded

The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation reports $22 million from the US Forest Service has been awarded to complete the acquisition of nearly 18 square miles on the Grande Ronde River and Beaver Creek outside La Grande and which will be jointly managed with ODFW and open to the public.
