A Southeast Washington wolf pack blamed for killing two calves and injuring ten others may go under the gun as WDFW considers lethal removals to try and stop their five-month series of attacks.
One And Done: Bonneville Closes To Sturgeon Retention; Dalles Pool Also Closes, But May Reopen
Following “record effort and catch rates,” sturgeon retention is closing on the Bonneville Day after a one-day season, as will The Dalles Pool, which may reopen later, and ODFW managers say they want “to have an honest conversation with the public about whether we should continue to keep sturgeon retention open on New Year’s Day” when they and WDFW set 2026’s season.

A mother rescued her 5-year-old son after a coyote bit and pulled him to the ground and attempted to haul the child toward a greenbelt in Renton on New Year’s Eve, Washington wildlife officials said.
