ODFW reports that the Gardiner man accused of breaking into a coastal salmon hatchery earlier this week will also be charged with a class C felony for unlawful taking of Chinook and could be banned from ever having a fishing license and face damage suits for causing the death of 17,890 young fish.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested a 22-year-old local Oregon Coast man in connection with the poisoning of 15,000 to 20,000 young hatchery Chinook on Monday back at the scene of the crime a day later.
