New Paperwork Needed For Rogue, South Coast Winter Steelheading

Winter steelheaders on Oregon South Coast rivers will need to buy a new validation, plus a harvest tag for wild fish, starting January 1, 2023, under a program that will use the funding to “provide much needed and accurate data to further support sustainable harvest opportunities” per a local angling advocate.

Olympic Park Closes Fishing On Queets, Quinault, Salmon Till June

There will be no sliver of steelheading on a Queets River tributary this season. Where last December Olympic National Park kept its mile or so of the Salmon open for anglers to target an early-arriving run of hatchery fish for a month, this go-around it’s closed.
