ODFW To Take Feedback On Potential 15K-acre Acquisition Along Minam River For State Wildlife Area
ODFW, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Hancock Natural Resource Group are partnering on a project to purchase property in Wallowa and Union County along the Minam River. The purchase would permanently protect crucial big game winter range and provide habitat for salmon, bulltrout, and Oregon Conservation Strategy Species including white-headed woodpecker, Rocky Mountain tailed frog, and several priority bat species.

WDFW Announces Coastal Winter Steelhead Season Meetings; First On July 28
With recent and long term declines in coastal steelhead and last season’s early closure to the 2020-2021 coastal steelhead sport fishery, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife fishery managers are hosting a suite of virtual public town hall meetings this summer and fall to gather feedback from the public as they prepare for next season.
ODFW’s Draft Rogue-South Coast Steelhead, Coho, Cutthroat Plan Available For Comment
The draft RSP covers winter and summer steelhead, coho salmon, and cutthroat trout in southwest Oregon’s coastal watersheds from Elk River south to the Winchuck River, including the Rogue River. Management actions are proposed to achieve long-term sustainability for these populations and provide ecological, economic, and cultural benefits for present and future generations.
