6-day Washington Coast Razor Clam Opener Approved; ‘Digging While Distancing’ Advised

A dozen bighorns including nine rams from a Central Washington herd were lethally removed by state wildlife officials Monday and disease testing results expected tomorrow will determine next steps in an effort to head off a potential outbreak caused by a wandering domestic sheep.
Domestic Sheep Was Far From Grazing Area When It Encountered Quilomene Bighorn Rams

The ewe in question went at least 25 air miles off its federal grazing allotment, most likely through the Naneum Pack territory between Ellensburg and Wenatchee, across the Coluckum and descended towards the Columbia near Vantage where it came into contact with at least seven rams early this month.
