Southwest Washington Fishing Report (5-1-23)

Preliminary Washington tributary sport sampling summary April 24-30, 2023

Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River I-5 Br downstream – 26 bank rods had no catch. 2 boats/2 rods kept one Chinook. 

Cowlitz River Above the I-5 Br – 12 bank rods kept one steelhead. 3 boats/8 rods kept one steelhead  and released two steelhead. 

A CALM, SUNNY SATURDAY AT THE WIND RIVER YIELDED A NICE SPRING CHINOOK FOR ADAM HESS OF IDAHO. HE WAS FISHING WITH BUZZ RAMSEY. (BUZZ RAMSEY)

Kalama River – 21 bank rods had no catch. 23 boats/56 rods kept 13 Chinook and released two  steelhead. 

Lewis River – 48 bank rods kept one jack. 24 boats/62 rods kept 19 Chinook and one jack. 

Wind River – 16 bank rods had no catch. 163 boats/479 rods kept 66 Chinook and released three  Chinook and one jack. 

Drano Lake – 70 bank rods kept five Chinook. 165 boats/428 rods kept 93 Chinook and released three Chinook. 

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge – Two bank rods had no catch.
